Terms of Use

By using this tool you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. What this tool is

A free, client-side web app that compares illustrative sample prices for Costco and Amazon using unit-price math, and lets you add your own price entries. It is an informational tool only — not shopping advice, and not a store.

2. Provided as-is; no warranty

The tool is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. In particular: no warranty on price accuracy or completeness. The built-in dataset contains illustrative sample prices that are fictional, not live, and not current. We do not guarantee that any price shown is accurate, complete, or up to date.

3. Your responsibilities

4. Acceptable use

5. Intellectual property

The app's code is released under the MIT License. "Costco" and "Amazon" are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only in plain text to factually describe a price comparison (nominative fair use). Product names are short factual identifiers; all descriptions are original.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) this tool — including, without limitation, any purchasing decisions made based on sample or user-entered prices.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted here with its date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

8. Contact

Questions about these terms: open an issue on the project repository, or write to legal-contact@example.invalid (TODO: the repo owner must replace this placeholder with a real contact address before public launch).
